Head Injuries (Live At Selina’s) captures Midnight Oil at the electrifying start of their acclaimed 2017 Great Circle World Tour, marking the band’s return to the stage after a 15-year hiatus.
Recorded on 13 April 2017 at Sydney’s legendary Selina’s at Coogee Bay Hotel, this intimate, sweat-soaked performance saw the Oils reconnect with fans in the very kind of venue where their reputation was forged.
The set features a rare one-off live performance of songs from their 1979 breakthrough album Head Injuries, delivering powerful versions of classics including “Cold Cold Change”, “Section 5 (Bus To Bondi)”, “Back On The Borderline” and “Stand In Line”.

Originally witnessed by just 2,000 fans, this historic concert is now available for the first time on Vinyl, CD and Digital formats.
Alongside the complete Head Injuries tracklist, the album includes the rarely performed instrumental “Wedding Cake Island”, named after the iconic rock formation off Sydney’s coastline. Recorded by longtime Midnight Oil front-of-house engineer Colin Ellis and mixed by renowned Australian live sound engineer Greg Wales,
Head Injuries (Live At Selina’s) stands as a vivid document of one of the most significant moments in the band’s later career. Completed with the participation of founding member Rob Hirst and featuring bassist Bones Hillman, the album is dedicated to their memories and enduring contribution to Midnight Oil’s legacy.
